Te Ārai (Veil)
Caren Davis, 2015
The window represents protection and safety inside the home, and aligns with the portrait of Nga-Rau, who is sneaking a peek out the ‘window’ of her hands. The ropu of wāhine made two patterns at the 2015 Taonga Wāhine Workshop and both patterns talked of whanau and safety.
